– The restaurant has a rich culinary history; most notably it was the site of The Cypress Club restaurant for over a decade. With a vision for creating a fresh, distinctive interior, Sean and Patricia enlisted the help of award winning architect and designer Michael Guthrie. Guthrie and his team retained the open flow of the space, using textured fabrics in tones of sage green, rich walnut and burnt orange to create a sense of warmth and intimacy. “Michael created the space envisioned,” says Patricia Hughes. “It feels elegant and urban, not at all intimidating.”
The dining room offers a mix of tables, booths and banquettes, and contains several pieces of rich history. A long communal table is supported by 180-year old railroad ties found in the Jackson Square area that date back to the gold rush era, creating an inviting spot to meet friends for drinks or a full dinner. The ‘Chef’s Table’ occupies a prime spot in the dining room, with a tabletop made of a door that was salvaged from a former library in Georgia; it seats between 8-10. A private dining room nicknamed the ‘Burgundy Room’ for the deep color of its walls, creates an intimate space that provides seating for up to 24 people.
