Roeland loved it! Good   –  Sugita Foods, Inc. started business as a supplier in Japanese Foods for Host International Inc., (Marriott) at San Francisco Int'l Airport in December, 1988.

SANRAKU restaurant was founded in 1989, specializing in first class quality Japanese cuisine. In 1992 they added their upscale "Sanraku Four Seasons" next door, including a new Sushi bar. The restaurant earned them a 31/2 star rating in all categories and a two page laudatory review in San Francisco Chronicle/Examiner weekend Restaurant Review. October 3, 1993.

Continued success in 1994 allowed them to open another Japanese restaurant for the Marriott Corporation at San Francisco's downtown Crocker Galleria. The business has been flourishing ever since, in 1995 they opened an additional restaurant (Marriott) named "Sanraku Express" at San Francisco Airport's domestic terminal.

In the meantime, the original Marriott owned restaurant in the International terminal was moved and enlarged in 1994 under the name "Pacific Rim".

In the spring of 1999, they opened another Sanraku restaurant and Sushi bar in the new Sony Metreon Entertainment Building near Moscone Center.

Their company policy is to continue to serve the highest quality Japanese Food available, consisting only of fresh and quality ingredients. They train their staff to be efficient and courteous in order to guarantee customers the best of service. They strive to be Japan's best ambassadors of its culinary arts and culture.
