– One of the best spots we have encountered on this trip. The estate in the Overberg Wine area was purchased and renovated in 2002 by a friendly American couple Breese and Catherine Johnson.

The area is just stunning, beautiful salt water lake, 150 bird species (and plans to put some game in the area), great chef Craig who uses organic greens from the garden, sundowners and canapees on the beach and waking up in a lodge overlooking the lake.

The history of the estate is also really interesting..check out the Spookhuis story. You can go whale watching, shark diving, picnics, kayaking, hiking, horse riding etc.

Directions from Cape Town: Drive through Hermanus to Stanford and turn right onto Queen Victoria Street. Drive 0.9 km and turn left onto Moore Street. Drive 0.4 km to the stop sign. Continue straight through this intersection onto the dirt road for 7 km to the Mosaic Farm entrance. Follow the sign either to the Lagoon Lodge or to the Reception, Cottages and 1892 Spookhuis.
